Recently, the first two diesel multiple units (DMU) adopting diesel power in West Africa officially started tests. After two months of testing, the DMU will be put into operation in Abuja City Rail, the first city rail in West Africa that is built with a complete set of Chinese standards and Chinese equipment, producing a profound influence on the city rail transportation development of Africa.

The DMU is tailor-made by CRRC Dalian for the Abuja area rail transportation in Nigeria. Its operational durability, ride comfort and economic maintenance are highly recognized by the Nigerian owner, train crew and passengers. Abuja’s DMU train uses large-section aluminum alloy car body and has four carriages. It is customized to carter for the local high-temperature, rainy, windy and sandy environment of Abuja. Energy-saving and environmentally friendly products are used, and operation is safe and reliable. It also features resistance to strong wind, wind and sand, high temperature, high humidity, vibration, noise and corrosion.

To ensure that the first two DMUs are tested and put into operation as scheduled, the company carefully developed a solid plan, fully mobilized resources, and formed an excellent and authoritative technical team within the shortest possible time.
