The result of creative design for smart EMUs as the important supporting equipment for the Smart Beijing-Zhangjiakou Intercity Railway was announced on April 23 at CHINA ACADEMY OF RAILWAY SCIENCES CORPORATION LIMITED (CARS).
The smart EMUs for Beijing-Zhangjiakou Intercity Railway are pitched at the smartness level of “Fuxing”, and based on the existing “Fuxing” CR400BF EMUs. Through the utilization of modern state-of-the-art technologies, the goal in relation to such EMUs is to secure new achievements and breakthroughs in respect of smartness, safety and comfort, environmental protection, comprehensive energy saving, and so on.
At the same time, with full consideration given to factors such as Chinese elements, the Olympic Spirit, Century of Beijing-Zhangjiakou & Cultural Inheritance, and outcomes of previous public innovation, the design was finalized into the “hawk” and “sailfish”-shaped heads and the two kinds of surface coating - Dragon & Phoenix and Spring Snow. For the smart EMUs, the manufacturing and assembly of prototype will be completed by the end of 2018, and the commissioning and test verification will be finished in the first half of 2019.
