It is reported by Indian media that the first metro train “customized” for Noida City of India was shipped to India from CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Co., Ltd. at the beginning of November. This batch of train has been delivered in India, and Noida Metro Company will perform the first round of trial operation for the train afterwards.
Noida City, the satellite town, only 20km from New Delhi - the capital of India, is closer to the opening date of its own metro!
As a developing country with a large population, India has been certain backward in infrastructure construction. However, the country is now witnessing quick changes with each passing day, and urban metro development progress has been driven faster in recent years.
Noida, founded on April 17, 1976 and fully known as New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, i.e. New Okhla industrial development zone, belongs to Uttar Pradesh, and is located in 20km to the east of New Delhi, and is at the opposite side of Yamuna River from new Delhi. Noida is in close relation with New Delhi, and is connected with each other by several railway and highway bridges; Noida is one of the 4 satellite towns of New Delhi - the capital of India (with the rest 3 of Ghaziabad which also belongs to Uttar Pradesh, Gurgaon and Faridabad which belong to Haryana).
Noida is the main hub for information technology outsourcing services of transnational corporations, and many large software and business process outsourcing companies have set offices in Noida. Noida is also the gathering place of many transnational enterprises, and many Chinese enterprises have set plants in Noida. Besides, Noida is also a place of interest in India, and is built with complete entertainment and leisure facilities.
Noida metro line has total length of 29.7km, and the main line is designed in overhead type; there are 22 stations along this line, including 13 surface stations, 7 overhead stations, and 2 underground stations; this line goes from downtown area to Knowledge Park of Noida.
CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Co., Ltd. signed a vehicle purchasing contract for metro line of Noida region with Delhi Metro Company in Delhi Metro Headquarters of India in 2016. Three international corporations in the world participated in competition, and CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Co., Ltd. won the bid by its perfect technology, good quality and high-quality service. The purchase order covers 19 complete vehicles (76 cars in all), the train is made of stainless steel, and comprises 2 motor train units, 2 trailers, and applies 4 marshalling units, and has a total passenger capacity of 1,034 persons. This is the second major purchase order of CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Co., Ltd. in India market after Mumbai Metro Line 1.
In the service period of 1,195 days for Mumbai metro, CRRC team made efforts to realize safe and stable operation of 16 vehicles for more than 3 years, and realized a total operation mileage of 4.943 million km, and set up a record of zero rescues in 39 continuous months.
Deputy President of the Indian owner marveled in the three-year ceremony for metro operation that “Reliance Company was pioneering in adopting the train made in China for India, many people had doubted us and CRRC, but it has been proved by the fact that Chinese train is trustworthy!”
