Delivery of the first batch of 10 locomotives exported by CRRC to Nigeria

In the morning of October 16, the first delivery ceremony of diesel locomotives for Abuja-Kaduna Railway and Lagos-Ibadan Railway exported to Nigeria was held in CRRC Qishuyan Co., Ltd.

The Federal Minister for Transport of Nigeria, Minister Amaezi, made a statement. He said: the locomotive developed by CRRC Qishuyan Co., Ltd. is very perfect, and the locomotive engine performance is very reliable. We hope that Nigeria will continue its friendly cooperation with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation and CRRC Qishuyan Co., Ltd. to jointly develop the economies of China and Nigeria. In particular, we would like to thank CRRC Qishuyan Co., Ltd. for training Nigerian students in how to drive and maintain locomotives. Thanks to Qishuyan Co., Ltd. for holding such a grand and enthusiastic delivery ceremony of locomotives.

As Africa's largest economy, Nigeria's transportation situation is constantly improving. The opening of the Abuja-Kaduna Railway has given Nigerians new and better choices, and its safe, comfortable and efficient service has won praise from all sectors of Nigerian society. At the same time, both the Abuja-Kaduna Railway which has been opened, and the Lagos-Ibadan Railway which is under construction, have played an important role in stimulating local economic development and promoting people's employment, and have become the benchmark projects of the "Belt and Road".

On January 25, 2019, CRRC Qishuyan Co., Ltd. and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CRCC) formally signed a contract in Beijing for the export of 21 diesel locomotives to Nigeria.
