On July 25, CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co., Ltd., a part of CRRC Corporation Limited, released the fully self-owned communication-based train control (CBTC) signaling system tSafer-UC1000, on a global scale at the MetroTrans 2019.

CBTC signaling system is a central control system that guarantees the normal operations of urban rail transit, known as the “brain” and “neural system” of urban rail transit operations. It is one of the three key core technologies of urban rail transit (i.e. traction, signal, braking), mainly designed to ensure the safety of trains and improve operational efficiency. The system features high technical difficulty and more safety responsibility.

In May 2019, Changsha Metro Line 4 with the CBTC signal system supplied by CRRC was successfully opened to trial operation, renewing the “industry speed” with less than 17 months from starting construction to trial operation. After applying the fully self-owned CBTC system developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co., Ltd., the Changsha Metro Line 4 trains have seen further improved running performance. The system supports a minimum departure interval in 90 seconds, and the time of the train entering and leaving the metro depot is reduced to less than 100 seconds, along with an accuracy of 99.999% when train stops at platform.
