Recently, the first autonomous bus in France started its trial run in Val-de-Marne. Developed and manufactured by CRRC, the bus will transport passengers in real traffic conditions.
The autonomous bus is a member of CRRC’s electric city bus series C12AI. With a length of 12 meters, the bus features comprehensive, real-time interaction of dynamic information among people, the vehicle and roads based on intelligent driving, intelligent power and intelligent interconnection. According to France’s news and information television station TF1, the 100% electrical autonomous bus does not look different from ordinary buses, but it is not a driver but an AI system driving the bus, and the driver will take over the wheel only in emergencies.
During the development process, by comparing the road traffic conditions of China and France, CRRC conducted special technical upgrade for the autonomous bus for operation in France, and has accumulated valuable experiences. In 2024, CRRC Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. will provide three 12-meter long intelligent vehicles to Paris of France for route operation. Going forward, CRRC will continue to improve the intelligent connectivity technology, actively facilitate China’s autonomous passenger cars to enter the international arena, and continuously enhance the comprehensive capabilities of intelligent equipment globally.
