Recently, Shaoxing Metro Line 2 officially started operation, marking that China’s first subway train with an operating speed of 100km/h and adopting the special rail return technology, which is developed and manufactured by CRRC, starts to serve users and the Asian Games.
Shaoxing Metro Line 2 is Shaoxing’s first project capable of unmanned, autonomous operation, which is designed according to the GoA4 standard, the highest level for autonomous driving. It adopts the Type B vehicle comprising 4 cars. 11 trains are deployed in total. The train is 80.84m long and 2.88m wide. The driver’s cab features an open design, and is integrated with the passenger compartment, enhancing the transparency and vision of the compartment. In addition, the passenger capacity has been increased to cater for the needs of the peak periods. Meanwhile, the train has been upgraded in automation, safety, reliability and energy conservation.
Shaoxing is a co-host city with the most Asian Games events. After Shaoxing Metro Line 2 starts operation, the operating mileage of rail transit in the Hangzhou metropolitan area will be increased to 620.21km, further promoting the construction of the “Asian Games commuting circle” before the opening of the Asian Games.
