On January 4, CRRC Ziyang Locomotive Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CRRC, signed online a contract for locomotive spare parts worth more than $30 million with a railway user in Turkmenistan. This is the largest locomotive spare parts contract signed by both parties ever since the 31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Turkmenistan.
CRRC Ziyang provided Turkmenistan with a total of 251 high-power diesel passenger locomotives, high-power diesel freight locomotives and diesel shunting locomotives from 2004 to 2016, becoming the largest supplier of rail transit equipment in Turkmenistan. Due to CRRC Ziyang’s good-performing locomotives and high-quality after-sales service, Turkmenistan signed a contract for 15 sets of 30-section double-locomotive diesel locomotives for trunk freight transportation in 2022, which has been Turkmenistan’s largest diesel locomotive order placed with China in the past decade. Upon the delivery of the order, CRRC Ziyang will have provided 281 sets/sections of locomotives to Turkmenistan.
The signing of the locomotive spare parts contract marked a new milestone in the in-depth cooperation between the two sides, ushering in a new stage of strategic cooperation from the bulk supply of complete vehicles to the large-scale supply of locomotive spare parts.
