Recently, the high-speed diesel multiple units (DMU) developed and manufactured by CRRC showed up at the 51st National Day celebration ceremony of United Arab Emirates (UAE). The DMU received warm cheers from the audience as soon as it appeared. The celebration ceremony themed on the “Time Tunnel”, and the train will be open to the public, which is expected to become an “Instagram-Worthy Location” of UAE.
UAE’s high-speed DMU is tailor-made by CRRC according to the local railway operation environment and needs with a designed operating speed as high as 200km/h. In addition to being the fastest among similar products in the world, the DMU adopts an adaptive design and boasts unique features like high temperature resistance and dust prevention, thus it can operate normally under the extreme condition with temperature up to 60℃. It is an internationally advanced modern high-speed DMU.
As UAE’s first main-line railway passenger car project, the high-speed DMU exported by CRRC to UAE is a demonstration project for the passenger transport business established by the UAE National Railway. It is of great significance in helping UAE to build a modern railway network of the international standard, driving the integration process of regional railways in Gulf states, and benefiting local social and economic development.
