Recently, the first batch of the 230 broad-gauge passenger cars for export to Pakistan rolled off the production line in Tangshan. The railway cars with a speed of 160km/h will be exported in a model combining “product + technology + service”.

The project of these 230 passenger cars was officially signed off on August 20, 2021. CRRC Tangshan adopts the latest design concepts and a new design for the broad-gauge railway cars with a speed of 160km/h by fully considering the actual operation needs of the railway in Pakistan. The new broad-gauge passenger cars adopt the 1676mm broad-gauge bogie and a light-weight design for economy and energy conservation while fully ensuring the body structure strength. Meanwhile, the interior decoration materials of the passenger compartments are all environmentally friendly materials that are green and safe, and seats and handrails are designed ergonomically, significantly improving the safety and comfort level of the passenger riding environment, which will drive the upgrade of Pakistan’s railway passenger car technology.

This “product + technology + service” model will become a “golden business card” for the export of China’s rail transit equipment. CRRC will actively work on technology transfer and production line export, supporting the upgrade and transformation of Pakistan’s railway passenger cars.
