New energy CRH trains developed by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd. have recently begun trial runs in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

These are the first electronic CRH trains driven by both grid (on regular railways) and battery (on railways without grids) in China.

These trains can run more than 200 kilometers with the highest speed of 160 kilometers per hour without connecting to the grid, circumventing conditions such as sandstorms or extremely cold conditions where grids are less available.

According to experts, the technology of merging features of bullet trains and light rail will meet the large demand for new forms of transportation and will improve China's influences in setting the construction standard of this train type.

Meanwhile, new energy trains can protect the environment, particularly some natural resorts and scenic spots, and offer more comfort for passengers.

As CRH trains cover more and more areas, power grids have to be constructed in all areas to guarantee train operations.

Thanks to the long battery life, trains can travel through natural reserves and other spots without access to power grids.

The new acoustic materials that provide sound insulation and complete WiFi coverage also ensures a quiet and entertaining traveling condition.
