On 19 April 2017, a hand over ceremony of the first electric locomotive for Serbia was held in Obrenovac, Belgrade. After that, the locomotive will service for freight transportation.
The new locomotive was designed according to EN, TSI standard. The truck gauge is 1,435 mm. The rated power is 7,000 kW and the max. speed is 140 km/h. It is able to haul 4,500-ton train.
In March 2016, CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Nikola Tesla Thermal Power Plant in Beograd, Serbia for supply of two electric locomotives . This is the first rolling stock order of CRRC in Serbia by international bid.
