An order for Electric Locomotives from Uzbekistan

FORM: 28/08/2015 Browse number:1590

Recently, CRRC announced that CRRC Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CRRC Dalian) had signed a contract on exporting electric locomotives worth about RMB 280 million to Uzbekistan Railways (the national rail carrier of Uzbekistan).

The freight electric locomotives to be exported to Uzbekistan would be produced based on the proven HXD3C locomotive technology platform and the national environmental characteristics of Uzbekistan. Characterized by energy saving, cold resistance, high speed and high power, the electric locomotives are in line with the standard railway gauge (1520mm) of Russian-speaking countries. The maximum mono-axial power is 1,200 kilowatts. The maximum speed is 120 kilometers per hour.

In the cold winter of Tashkent region, the lowest temperature may be lower than -20℃. CRRC Dalian has designed the cold resistance function by adding the heating system, which is able to withstand the low temperatures of minus 30℃. It is known that the first batch of 11 electric locomotives has been fully delivered for use. With safe and reliable quality and performance, as well as all-round services, CRRC Dalian was highly appreciated by Uzbekistan Railways and therefore obtained another locomotive order.

High-quality and modern locomotives have far-reaching significance to Uzbekistan's growing demand for railway capacity. The cold-resistant “locomotives” from China play an important role in the gradual electrification transformation of Uzbekistan Railways and promotes the protection of natural environment.

Uzbekistan Railways Chairman Ramatov said: “Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the development of railway. With the quickened pace of railway infrastructure construction, the demand for electric locomotives and diesel locomotives is also increasing. CRRC Dalian is the only manufacturer exporting both diesel locomotive and electric locomotives in China's rail transportation equipment industry. We are satisfied at the products and services of CRRC Dalian. China and Uzbekistan still have great potentials for the cooperation and development in the locomotives.”
