New LRV runs on Manila Line MRT3

On 6 May, a new train made by CRRC Dalian Co. left North Avenue MRT Station and put into operation on Manila Line MRT3. Senior officials in Philippines are pleased to ride the train experience.

The 16.9km Line MRT3 was designed to carry around 350,000 passengers per day although ridership is currently around 600,000 passengers per day. In June 2014, the Philippine Department of Transport and Communications awarded CRRC Dalian a contract worth around Yuan 540m ($US 87m) to supply 48 LRVs to increase capacity on Manila's congested Line MRT3.

In past 3 month, new LRV experience 5,000km run test and was approved by customer. The introduction of the new LRVs will allow the MRT to now handle over 800,000 passengers.
