The power centralized MU motor car of speed of 160km/h is designed and developed by CRRC Dalian as AC drive motor car for new type power centralized MU for China Railways Corporation. This MU may service on existing line at speed of 160km/h. This improves the level of passenger train and accelerates it. Comparing with high-speed train, it features good economy, such as low purchase cost, low operation cost and low maintenance cost. Marshalling is so flexible that the form and size can be adjusted at any time according to passenger traffic.

As motor car of MU, it features lighter axle load (19.5t), beautiful streamlined design and high safety protection of cab. Train line-side circuit adopts dual pantographs and dual main breakers mode. Traction circuit adopts IGBT element of 6.5kV. Control circuit adopts two-level network system, which are train-level WTB and vehicle-level MVB+ECN. Flexible marshalling can achieve 1M+7T (with one control), 2M+16T, 2M+XT, etc. When making short marshaling-short marshalling coupled, the interconnection, interworking and mutual control between motor cars and control cars can be realized.
